East Wing of the Meridian

Martin believes love has given him another chance, but Elaine's unresolved past keeps her from sharing the life he imagines.

About the book

Dr. Martin Lewis treats every patient with the care he would give his own family. His plans for the future collapse when an accident kills his wife and daughter. Certain that he will never love again, Martin surprises himself when he meets Elaine. He quickly believes she is the one person with whom he can build another life, and Elaine falls in love with him as well. Marriage exposes a problem neither understands at first. Elaine's past begins to overpower the feelings that brought them together. Fear affects her thoughts and behavior, leaving her unable to become the partner Martin expected. He responds with patience, accepting her difficult habits and hoping that time will allow her to trust him fully. Their second chance becomes a test of what good intentions can and cannot repair. Martin wants Elaine's heart, but love alone may not resolve what she carries from before they met.
